Sydney, Saturday 9 December 2023 - On Saturday 9 December 2023 and again on Saturday 3 February 2024 a women-only strip show lands in Marrickville. Strip Her: The Pop-Up is a revolutionary concept where instead of going to see a show, guests go to BE the show.

Novice women take their turn in front of a supportive, cheering crowd, all there for the same reason, to express and celebrate the parts of themselves they’re used to having to hide. Instead of tipping with money, the women tuck notes of praise like ‘powerful’ and ‘captivating’  into each other’s garter belts.

Attendees claim it’s a deeply healing and transformational experience. Jess X Goh, a trauma coach in childhood abuse, said, “I'm definitely not the same woman. The workshop helped me come a long way with my personal experience of sexual abuse, to really embrace myself as a woman and really own it.”

Strip Her: The Pop-Up is for any woman over the age of 18. The stage has been blessed by pregnant women, grandmothers, professional strippers, trans women, women with two-left feet, the straight and the queer.

Founder Caitlin Erica shares “When I began stripping in Berlin, my eyes were opened to the power of a woman’s sensuality in a way I never knew existed. I wanted for more women to experience that awakening. I also wanted to create a space where women could unleash their sensuality without it needing to go anywhere; without any expectations or transactions.” 

We should explain at this point that Strip Her: The Pop-Up isn’t actually a strip club. There’s no money exchanged and no solicitation of services. This pop-up lies somewhere between an empowerment workshop, an interactive theatre production, a wild party and the church of the feminine that no one grew up going to but maybe we all should have.

Event format:

Attendees are greeted by ‘Pussy Priestesses’ who offer ‘pussy blessings’ and a warm welcome to put their nerves at ease. The night opens with a playful sensual seduction workshop that guides the women to unlock their innate seductive power and helps them to feel safe expressing their sensuality in a new, shared space.

After the workshop the party turns up a notch as the DJ continues to serve sultry, sexy, celebratory beats and divine feminine mischief ensues. There’s an undercurrent of innocent ‘slumber party’ mischief, as women shed inhibitions, displaying moves they’ve secretly practised for years.

Returning customers, or ‘repeat offenders’ who are confident to jump straight in the deep end are welcome to skip the workshop and arrive at 9pm.
